Photographing a wedding at HMCS Discovery was a first for me and honestly such a cool experience. Tucked behind Stanley Park on Deadman’s Island, this place isn’t something you can just stroll into. It’s a private Canadian Navy base, so unless you or someone close to you has served, you’ve probably only ever seen it from across the water. Being there felt like stepping behind the curtain of one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets.
Rolling Up with a TV and a Ton of Heart
Jacquie and Max were waiting at the gate with their arms full including bouquets, decor, a TV and a whole lot of excitement. Once we loaded up and drove over the bridge onto the base it was like the whole city faded away.
