Kyoto Cherry Blossoms in the Rain
It rained all day. We didn’t care
Figured we might as well enjoy it. Monica rented a kimono and somehow made it look like it was always hers. She walked those wet stone paths like it was nothing.
Philosopher’s Path was soaked
The cherry blossoms were almost gone. Just missed the full bloom. Still looked wild. Petals floating in the canal. Branches holding on to the last bits of pink. Cold, but peaceful.
Heian Jingu Shrine surprised us
We didn’t plan on stopping long, but we ended up getting some incredible photos there. The shrine felt huge and quiet at the same time. No blossoms here, just bright red gates and that soft rain. Monica standing there in the middle of it all. Unreal.
Colors felt different
The gray sky made everything stand out more. Her kimono popped against the quiet background. Kinda looked like a painting. Not the clean, perfect kind. The messy, beautiful kind.
Don’t wait for sunshine
Kyoto in the rain feels real. Slower. Still full of magic. The blossoms don’t care about the weather. Neither should you.
