Gyeongbokgung Palace Photos in Seoul
A quiet morning with Monica, hanbok colors, and a palace full of history
During our trip to Seoul, Monica and I spent a morning at Gyeongbokgung Palace — and it ended up being one of the most meaningful shoots we’ve done while traveling. She wore a traditional hanbok, and as we wandered the palace grounds, it felt like stepping into a different time.
The light was soft. The gardens were peaceful. Her dress moved with the breeze. Every photo felt calm and cinematic, like a still from a Korean drama.

Why This Spot Is Perfect for Photos
Gyeongbokgung is more than a tourist stop. It’s full of variety. Courtyards. Reflection pools. Tree-lined walkways. Ancient architecture. Whether you’re planning a couples shoot, travel portraits, or even an engagement session in Seoul, this place delivers.

When to Go
Spring for cherry blossoms. Fall for bold colors. Mornings are best for light and fewer people. Just remember the palace is closed on Tuesdays.

Pro Tip
Wearing a hanbok gets you in for free — and it photographs beautifully. It adds so much meaning and story to the experience.

Getting There
Hop on Seoul Subway Line 3 and get off at Gyeongbokgung Station. Exit 5 brings you right to the entrance.

Make It More Than a Visit
Free guided tours are available in English, Chinese, and Japanese. If you want to understand the space while you shoot, it’s a great add-on.
