Rainy First Meet at the Vancouver Public Library
This was our first install meet. Just a chance to connect and take a few photos.
We picked the Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch for our session. None of us planned for the rain but it turned out to be perfect. Umbrellas came out. We wandered and just made the most of it. For anyone considering a downtown Vancouver photo shoot this spot is a hidden gem.
Rain Didn’t Stop the Magic
It started pouring the second we got there. But Alex and Rob didn’t flinch. They were playful, relaxed, and fully present. We got soaked but we got something real. The moody weather actually added to the vibe. Sometimes the best photos happen when nothing goes to plan.
A Downtown Vancouver Photo Location You Shouldn’t Miss
I’ve lived in Vancouver forever and had never been to this library. Big mistake.
The top floor is unreal. You’ve got to go when the building is open but it’s one hundred percent worth it. Huge open space, plenty of covered areas, and so many corners to explore. If you’re looking for a versatile weather-friendly location for portraits or a couple’s shoot in downtown Vancouver the Central Library is a must.
One thing to remember. Be respectful and quiet. It’s still a library and people are there to read and study. We kept it low key and moved carefully through the space.
UBC Botanical Garden Up Next
Next time I see these two will be for their wedding at UBC Botanical Garden. If this was just the first meeting I already know their day is going to be something special.
