Sarah’s bridal prep at Van Dusen
Bridesmaids and her mom helped with the final touches before we headed out to the garden for some beautiful bridal party portraits. The connection between Sarah and her bridesmaids was honestly incredible. You could feel how much love they had for each other especially for the bride. It was the perfect way to start the day.
Getting ready at Sarah’s father’s home
We started the day at her dad’s peaceful Jericho house where Marco got ready with his family and closest friends. The home backyard as forest so lush it reminded me of UBC Botanical Garden. There was a real connection between Marcos and his mother and groomsmen who were helping him get ready. For some of Marco’s friends this was their first time visiting Vancouver.
The First Look
Sarah walked with her eyes closed, holding her maid of honor’s hand as they made their way to Marco. They stood back to back for a quiet moment, taking it all in. When they finally turned to see each other for the first time, the emotion was unforgettable. Moments like this are exactly why I love first looks, especially in a place as beautiful as Van Dusen.
Family portraits and a heartfelt ceremony
We moved into group photos explored the gardens for portraits and then settled in for a ceremony filled with meaning.
Their vows told the story of how they came together and everything they built. It was real and beautiful.
Sparklers and dance floor joy
The reception had everything. Warm speeches fun games and laughter and tears.
We ended the night with a sparkler photo that was so fun to set up.
After that the dance floor lit up with the bride and groom surrounded by everyone who loves them.
