Finding the Vancouver Wedding Venue That Feels Right for You
Have you considered getting married in Vancouver? This city has so many beautiful places to choose from and each one creates a different feeling. This guide gives you a sense of what each venue is like, what you might spend, the capacity, and why I personally love photographing at these locations.
Hi, I am Tommy. I am a wedding photographer who loves helping couples uncover their values and pick a venue that is suited for their wedding day. I also love creating resource articles like this to make your decisions easier when it comes to choosing a venue that fits your style and needs. Whether it is a timeless mansion on the west side of Vancouver, a beautiful garden at UBC or VanDusen, a beachside celebration at the Stanley Park Teahouse, or a romantic dinner setting at Brix and Mortar in the heart of downtown, each place offers something special.
These are some of my favorite venues I have worked at and genuinely enjoyed photographing. They are all so different, so I wanted to break everything down in a simple and easy way to help you see which venue feels right for you and the kind of wedding you want.

Hycroft Manor
Tommy’s Thoughts on This Venue
One of the most striking things about Hycroft Manor is the style. The tall columns on the terrace, the beautiful green solarium with the stained glass ceiling, and the stairs inside and outside the building. All the incredible stairs in this place are an opportunity to take another incredible photo. This is one of the reasons I love this venue so much.
Everything here is beautifully maintained and preserved. It is one of the few heritage buildings in Vancouver that still allows weddings. You and your guests will be blown away by how beautiful this venue is and how much it feels like one of those romance movies set in a European villa.
If you have dreamed of a wedding that feels far away without the travel, this is a great choice.

This venue is in the heart of downtown Vancouver in Yaletown. This restaurant is known for its incredible food and its stunning courtyard for ceremonies. The courtyard is covered in beautiful foliage, warm lights, and a classic chandelier. It is a stunning venue in downtown Vancouver that has a fully covered ceremony space. Whether it is raining or sunny, it gives you a lot of peace of mind for your wedding day.

Tips for Choosing Your Venue
- See it in person. Photos never tell the full story. Walk through the space, feel the light, and imagine what it will be like filled with your people.
- Think about your guests. Is it easy to reach from your getting-ready location? Is parking or transport convenient and comfortable for everyone?
- Plan for real costs. DIY venues can look affordable at first but often mean more vendors, rentals, and coordination which also means more work and planning.
- Know your style. Think about the kind of atmosphere you want to create and how you’ll style your day. A venue’s natural character can help set the tone for everything else.
- Choose the right size. It’s always better to have a venue that feels spacious and comfortable rather than one that barely fits your guest list. Give everyone room to relax and celebrate.
- Consider the season. Vancouver’s venues transform with the seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, lush greens in summer, golden light in fall, and cozy indoor warmth in winter. Choose your date based on the kind of scenery and light that inspire you most.
- Always have a backup. It’s Vancouver, rain is part of the story. Make sure your venue has a solid plan B that still feels beautiful.
Final Thoughts
Choosing a wedding venue should feel exciting, not stressful. Take your time visiting each location. Imagine yourself in the space. Picture your friends and family there, celebrating your wedding day. That feeling matters more than anything else.
There is no single best venue. Each place is different and each couple values different things. If you walk into one of these spaces and you can imagine marrying your best friend there, that is usually a good sign that this might be your venue.
If you are thinking of hiring a photographer for your wedding, I would love to be a part of your day. I want to help you uncover your values and understand what you care about so I can document the moments you will treasure for the rest of your lives.
