Why Pre-Wedding Sessions Are Worth It!
Ever wondered why pre-wedding or post-wedding photoshoots are something you should consider? The truth is, they give you a chance to create magical images that just aren’t possible on the actual wedding day. Most wedding days only leave you with about 30 minutes, maybe an hour tops, for bride and groom portraits. While you’ll still get some great photos, they won’t have the same relaxed, intentional feel as a dedicated session.
That’s exactly why I was so excited to photograph Carman and Charles out in Deep Cove. This session gave us the time and space to really create something special.

A Dreamy Morning in Deep Cove
This shoot was one of those sessions where everything just came together. We started early, just after sunrise, when there was still a little bit of mist floating through the air. The light was soft and golden, and everything felt calm and peaceful. The kind of morning that just makes you stop and take it all in.
Because we weren’t in a rush, we were able to slow down, explore, and really enjoy the moment. The photos came out light-hearted, romantic, and full of warmth, all because we had the time to let it unfold naturally.

From the Pier to the Forest
We started at the pier, then made our way to a quiet spot by the water surrounded by trees and spring flowers. Deep Cove has so many beautiful corners to explore, and we didn’t miss a single one. I even brought my bubble gun along to add a little extra fun, and it worked like magic. Carman and Charles laughed, played, and completely embraced the moment.
After finishing up by the water, we wandered into a nearby forest for a second look. Carman and Charles were so sweet and easy to work with. The way they care for each other really comes through in the photos, and it reminded me why I love doing what I do.

Stay Tuned for Part Two
We’re not done yet. Part two of Carman and Charles’ session takes us into downtown Vancouver for a completely different vibe, and I can’t wait to share those with you soon.

FAQs
What’s the best time of day to shoot in Deep Cove?
Early morning just before sunrise is perfect. You’ll get that beautiful light and fewer people around.
How long should we plan for a pre-wedding shoot?
Three hours is a good amount of time. It gives us the space to explore, relax, and shoot in more than one location.
Can we include props?
Yes, definitely. Bring anything that feels personal or fun—bubble guns, signs, a blanket, even something silly. Props help add a bit of your personality into the session.
Can we bring our pet?
Absolutely. I love working with pets. Whether it’s your dog, cat, or any other furry (or not-so-furry) friend, they’re more than welcome to join.
